Blog: Connecting the Dots at the Edges

In early 2020, the Open Edge Computing (OEC) Initiative established a workstream to investigate this IXP placement challenge. Using the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Living Edge Lab and the Interdigital AdvantEDGE Mobile Edge Emulation Platform, we evaluated the impacts of different carrier interexchange locations on the performance of the OpenRTiST edge-native applications. At the Living Edge Lab, we have been working on approaches that use benchmarking and simulation of edge-native applications in networks to understand the interplay between applications and their environments.
