Plan your next research collaboration with us:

Please note:  We ARE recruiting new Master's Students starting in Fall 2026.

The Wood Neuro Research Group is a highly collaborative lab group at Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Pittsburgh campus. We are always looking to work alongside motivated, subject experts and diverse thought leaders.

For clinicians and clinical researchers

Collaborate with us on sickle cell disease, pain, cognition, cerebral blood flow, stroke risk, and longitudinal brain health.

For imaging researchers

Collaborate with us on magnetic resonance imaging, functional magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography, near-infrared spectroscopy, cerebral autoregulation, and multimodal brain monitoring.

For device and signal-processing researchers

Collaborate with us on inclusive neurotechnology, pulse oximetry, near-infrared spectroscopy, skin tone, hair type, optical modeling, and measurement bias.

For trainees

Are you passionate about sickle cell disease, neuroimaging, computational modeling, inclusive device design, pain management, or wearable sensing? Check out our Research and People pages to learn more about our work!

If you're a prospective postdoc or graduate student eager to make an impact, we want to hear from you! Please send your CV to our Principal Investigator, Prof. Wood. We look forward to your application!

Undergraduate researchers with the necessary skills must commit to at least two semesters to be given preference. High school students, you must live in Pittsburgh or be involved in one of Â鶹¹ÙÍø's programs to work with us.

For community and patient partners

We welcome patient-centered collaborations that improve how pain, cognition, brain health, and device usability are measured and communicated.

Please reach out to our PI for future collaboration opportunities.
