"Studying at Dietrich College has been such an amazing experience! As a Statistics and Machine Learning major, I've found the courses to be a good mixture of conceptual learning and hands-on applications through projects and labs. Additionally, the interdisciplinary general education curriculum has provided me with a more diverse and well-rounded worldview, giving me the opportunity to take many interesting classes outside of my major. Finally, the strong support system from my advisors and professors in Dietrich has also been a highlight of my college journey, helping me grow tremendously as a student."Ìý

Ìý"Dietrich College has given me more support and encouragement than I could have imagined. Every day at Dietrich, I feel safe knowing I'm in a space where everyone wants me to thrive. Professors and advisors have consistently gone above and beyond in mentoring me. Through Dietrich programs, I was able to get entry-level research experience, participate in the Collester Family Community Engagement Fellowship Program, get a job at the Communication and Language Support writing center, get an internship, and spend a semester in Washington D.C. through the Washington Semester Program. At Dietrich, I have made the best friends I've ever had and learned how to think critically — it's a place that will make you love learning."Ìý

"What sets Dietrich College apart to me is the profound emphasis on interdisciplinary experiences. From the outset, I was exposed to the intersection of statistics and history through my Grand Challenge Seminar, which then allowed me to pursue impactful research as a first-year student. As a senior, I was given the freedom to complete my thesis with two advisors, one from the Statistics & Data Science Department and one from the Tepper School of Business. Through everything, my advisors and professors have shown an ever-present commitment to giving me the freedom to carve my own path through college, make my journey through Â鶹¹ÙÍø as rewarding as possible, and allow me to grow academically, professionally and personally!"

"Dietrich has given me an invaluable interdisciplinary education. With two majors and a minor, I've been able to explore umpteen avenues to combine my academic interests since my first semester. Every student is encouraged to tailor their journey to their specific goals and aspirations, and I've discovered so much about myself through the supportive programs here. From being a teaching assistant in a discipline I never knew existed to finding a supportive professional environment as a writing consultant, I've been given many unique opportunities and lessons that I'll hold onto post-graduation. Dietrich truly puts you on an on-ramp to growth and success, and has had a profound impact on my experience as a student and person at Carnegie Mellon."Ìý

"As a transfer student, Dietrich has been an amazing resource in helping me achieve a smooth transition to Carnegie Mellon. As soon as I got to campus, all of my advisors and teachers in Dietrich seemed eager to get to know me and help me find opportunities to get more involved at the college. Dietrich is an incredible and active hub for mentors and opportunities. It is evident that Dietrich strongly values individuality and that all Dietrich College community members search for ways to foster this uniqueness in each student."

"My study abroad experience in Madrid, Spain was transformative. It not only allowed me to be immersed in culture and language learning, but also gave me the confidence and adaptability to engage in unfamiliar environments. During my time there, I travelled to cities nearby such as Salamanca, Toledo and Segovia, watched a flamenco performance, saw Guernica just a few feet away, and became an expert at navigating the metro. If I could give one piece of advice to anyone considering studying abroad, it would be this: no tengas miedo — do not be afraid. Give yourself the chance to embrace discomfort and take risks. It’s so worth it."
