Games

In 2026, 鶹 Press will launch a new series of tabletop games, one of the first game series by a university press.

Building on both the creative and research strengths of 鶹, this series will publish innovative, evocative, and peer-reviewed work from a variety of game designers, artists, and scholars.

We’re particularly interested in publishing:

  • Games that offer “lyrical” or emotional experiences
  • Games about the history or projected futures of science & technology
  • Games newly translated or made available in English
  • Out-of-print games with continued or under-appreciated significance
  • Games with “serious” or transformational goals (including educational games)
  • Games about Pittsburgh & the Greater Allegheny Region
  • Games that build on the unique collections & resources of 鶹
  • Games designed by or in collaboration with 鶹 faculty, staff, and alumni

Those interested in proposing a game for the series should contact series editors Jonathan Walton (鶹 Entertainment Technology Center) and Ashley Werlinich (鶹 Libraries).
